The California Department of Health Care Services (DHCS) announced it will delay payments for one week at the end of June and pay those claims out of the 2012-2013 fiscal year budget. This "check-write" delay will impact fee-for-service providers in the following programs:
- Medi-Cal fee-for-service
- Healthy Families
- Child Health and Disability Prevention
- California Children's Services
- Expanded Access to Primary Care
- Genetically Handicapped Persons Program
- Abortion Services
Medi-Cal will hold regularly scheduled payments for the week ending June 28. This means the last payments physicians will receive will be June 22, 2012, until payments resume on July 6, 2012. Electronic funds transfers will record on July 10, 2012.
