Overview
MedicAlert provides 24-hour emergency identification and family notification services that safeguard and identify an individual in an emergency. With a single phone call, emergency responders can talk with a representative to access medical history and records, protecting patients against situations such as allergy reactions or medication conflicts.
Each member of the MedicAlert program receives the full support of our specially trained emergency call center staff, who are there to speak for them if necessary in a time of need. During an emergency, first responders can call our 24/7 toll free hotline which is answered by MedicAlert staff who identify and relay all pertinent health record information to qualified emergency personnel when the children cannot speak for themselves.
To make first responders aware of the service, patients are provided with a personalized medical identification bracelet and an emergency wallet card that identifies them, both of which provide the member’s personal identification number, primary medical condition(s) and phone number of the Foundation’s 24-hour Emergency Response Center.
The MedicAlert program also ensures that designated family members are notified if a child requires emergency medical treatment in a parent’s absence.
